Melanie Head Receives Jack C. Dozier Emerging Leader Award

Peachtree Corners, GA - Melanie Head was selected to receive the Jack C. Dozier Emerging Leader Award on July 15 at the 2019 Georgia Association of Water Professionals (GAWP) Annual Conference. A 2013 Civil Engineering graduate of Auburn University, Head is a Professional Engineer in Georgia and has been a Project Engineer in Barge Design Solutions’ Gwinnett office for over five years.
Head is the nineteenth recipient to receive this Emerging Leader Award. The award is given annually to only one GAWP professional who shows dedication to quality work, is service-oriented in their career, and who positively impacts GAWP and the water profession.
While her resume boasts work on many notable projects, it also shows Head’s spirit of initiative and leadership. She currently serves as the Chair of the Young Professionals Committee at GAWP, assisted five others in co-founding the Environmental and Water Resources Institute New Professionals Committee, is an involved member in the American Society of Civil Engineers Young Professionals Group, and is a dedicated community volunteer.
