Allen Shariett Joins Barge Design Solutions

Allen Shariett, PE, CFM, CPESC, has joined Barge Design Solutions, Inc. as a Senior Project Engineer on the Water Resources team. Based out of the firm’s Peachtree Corners, GA, office, he will serve as the firm’s Hydrologic & Hydraulic (H&H) and Flood Risk Lead.

Shariett focuses primarily on the design of stormwater projects relevant to transportation infrastructure and has more than 18 years of experience in this field. His emphasis has included FEMA-related work, floodplain analysis, transportation hydraulic design, sustainability studies, and post-construction stormwater BMP design. He brings an extensive knowledge of both FEMA compliance and state and municipal DOT requirements.

“In addition to Allen’s professional capabilities, his character, passion for his work, and leadership skills will help strengthen and grow the capabilities of our Water Resources team,” shares Jonathan Childs, PE (AL, TN), Director – Water Services. “We are confident this addition will expand our client service and collaboration as we work to not only better our communities’ infrastructure, but to also improve the quality of life for residents in these areas.”

Shariett earned a bachelor’s degree in Biosystems Engineering from Auburn University. In addition to being certified as a Professional Engineer in Georgia and Alabama, he is a Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM), a Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control (CPESC), a Certified Envision^TM Sustainability Professional (ENV SP), and a Level II GSWCC Certified Design Professional. Shariett is also a member of both the Association of State Floodplain Managers (ASFPM) and the American Society of Highway Engineers (ASHE).
