Barge Design Solutions Renews Bicycle-Friendly Business Status

18 / September / 2023

Barge’s Nashville Office has earned recognition once again as a Silver Bicycle Friendly Business from the League of American Bicyclists.

The office has joined the movement of more than 1,400 local businesses, government agencies, and Fortune 500 companies across the United States in transforming the American workplace to be more welcoming to our employees who bike. Many more businesses have joined or returned to the bike movement during the pandemic, and Barge is proud to support the health and well-being of our community by being more welcoming to people choosing to bike.

“We are excited to announce these new and renewing Bicycle Friendly Businesses, employers at the forefront of a growing movement for healthier, stronger, and better-connected communities across the nation,” said Bill Nesper, executive director of the League of American Bicyclists. “Ensuring more people – whether employees, customers, or members of the community – can safely choose to bike is part of the solution to many challenges we face both locally and globally, and we’re proud to see businesses like Barge Design Solutions investing in opportunities that make a difference.”

Barge joins a total of 1,451 current Bicycle Friendly Businesses across the country, all united in a commitment to transform American workplaces to be more welcoming to customers and employees who bike. The Bicycle Friendly Business Award recognizes an organization’s contributions to the movement to build a Bicycle Friendly America for everyone over months and years.

The rise of flexible, hybrid work schedules since the COVID-19 pandemic only encouraged more use of the bike-friendly features at Barge's Nashville office. These amenities include indoor racks and secure access, which have not only motivated our employees to embrace cycling as a means of transportation but have also cultivated a stronger sense of community within the workplace. Additionally, Barge actively engages in the Nashville community with local bike advocacy organizations.
