Barge Design Solutions Ranked as Top Architecture Firm

Barge Design Solutions (Barge) has been ranked as a top architecture firm for 2023 by Modern Healthcare. Based on the total 2022 construction costs for healthcare projects, Barge moved up two spots to No. 31 on Modern Healthcare’s 2023 Top Architecture Firms List.

With 106% growth over 2022 total construction cost, we continue to build on a solid foundation of experience and knowledge in healthcare design. Our architects collaborate with clients to provide thoughtful, creative, and responsive solutions in a constantly evolving industry. The team leverages cutting-edge technologies and innovative design approaches to create environments that optimize patient care, enhance operational efficiency, and improve overall outcomes.

Barge completed several notable projects in 2022:

HCA Florida Fort Walton-Destin Hospital Tower - This four-story expansion at Fort Walton-Destin Hospital added 10 ICU beds, eight cardiovascular ICU beds, and 24 surgical-care beds, increasing the hospital’s total bed capacity to 336 beds.

HCA Florida Oak Hill Hospital Emergency Department Expansion - Oak Hill Hospital’s emergency room footprint was doubled with a new, dedicated fast-track area as well as an upgraded eight-bed, secure pediatric emergency department.

HCA Florida Blake Hospital Surgery Department and 12-Bed Burn Intensive Care Unit - Blake Hospital increased space and improved existing facilities by adding four new operating rooms and a state-of-the-art, 12-bed Burn Intensive Care Unit. The hospital is one of six Burn Centers in Florida.
