The Challenge

Barge Design Solutions was tasked to work on a new elementary school in one of Metro Nashville's residential neighborhoods. The project included significant site work, minimizing impact on the community during construction, and incorporating sustainable features.

The Solution

Smith Springs Elementary was designed to be sustainable, using local materials, energy-efficient features, and bioswales. Community meetings were held to address neighborhood concerns.

The Result

The school achieved LEED Silver certification and was recognized for its design. It serves 800 students and incorporates sustainable features. The project was completed with minimized disruption to the neighborhood.
