Technology Solutions Specialist

What We're Looking For:

Barge Design Solutions, Inc is seeking a Technology Solutions Specialist to join our growing Geospatial team. The role is ideal for a GIS professional who is collaborative and detail oriented with a strong foundation in traditional GIS workflows and is interested in CMMS implementation and GIS workflow improvement. The Technology Solutions Specialist will work closely with project managers, engineers, designers, and clients to deliver high-quality spatial analysis, visualizations, and data-driven insights across a wide variety of projects.

Responsibilities:

• Spatial Data Management & Analysis: Collect, clean, and maintain complex geospatial datasets to ensure data integrity; conduct advanced spatial analyses supporting engineering, environmental, and infrastructure projects.
• Application Development: Configure and deploy intuitive GIS applications using modern Esri solutions, including ArcGIS Field Maps, Survey123, Dashboards, and Experience Builder.
• Workflow Automation & Integration: Identify operational efficiencies by scripting automated data processes using Python (Jupyter Notebooks) and ModelBuilder; integrate GIS data with CMMS platforms (e.g., Cityworks, Trimble Unity).
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal technical teams and external clients to define requirements, provide GIS subject matter expertise, and translate complex technical concepts into actionable deliverables.
• Documentation & Standards: Establish and maintain comprehensive documentation for custom scripts, tools, and workflows to ensure reproducibility and adhere to quality assurance standards.
• Continuous Innovation: Monitor emerging geospatial technologies and best practices, proactively recommending solutions that enhance the firm’s technical capabilities.

Education & Experience Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Geospatial Science, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)
• 6+ years of progressive GIS experience delivering spatial analysis and data management solutions.
• In-depth knowledge of the ArcGIS platform (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online/Enterprise) and mobile data collection suites.
• Demonstrated experience building, testing, and documenting automated workflows using Python, Jupyter Notebooks, ModelBuilder, or related tools.
• Experience configuring and supporting GIS integrations with CMMS/work-order asset management software (e.g., Cityworks, Trimble Unity).
• Strong cartographic skills with the ability to produce presentation-grade maps, dashboards, and client-facing deliverables.
• Familiarity with CAD/BIM interoperability or remote sensing/LiDAR data processing is a plus.
