Gould Turner Group infused new life to the then 51-year-old Cope Administration Building on Middle Tennessee State University’s (MTSU) campus. This project included the renovation of administrative offices, the lobby space, board rooms, support staff work areas, and operational support sections. The scope also included layout planning to allow the Provost to be closer to the core administrative group.

The design involved improving handicap access, remodeling public restrooms, installing new fixtures, replacing the HVAC unit with energy efficient systems, removing asbestos, and renovating the elevator. Lastly, the design team provided better lighting, improved the network infrastructure, and upgraded the building’s security features.

The Cope building was occupied while being renovated, so GTG worked with MTSU facilities staff to reduce workflow interruptions and consider noise levels, public safety, and maintaining access to exits. The renovated Cope Administrative Building is now a modern, well-let, welcoming space.
