What We're Looking For:
At Barge Design Solutions, we partner with clients to solve complex environmental and infrastructure challenges while protecting natural resources and supporting sustainable growth. Our multidisciplinary teams deliver innovative solutions across environmental compliance, permitting, natural resources, remediation, restoration, civil infrastructure, energy, and waste management. As we continue to expand, we are seeking two (2) Environmental Project Managers to join our team. Both roles offer the opportunity to lead impactful projects, manage multidisciplinary teams, build lasting client relationships, and contribute to the continued growth of Barge's Environmental Services practice. These opportunities will support two key areas of our growing practice:
- Energy Projects – Supporting civil and environmental projects for energy-sector clients.
- Solid Waste Projects – Supporting civil engineering and solid waste projects, with a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) preferred for this position.
Responsibilities
- Lead projects from initiation through completion, working with office and technical leadership to execute Barge's project management procedures.
- Develop and manage contracts and subcontracts in accordance with Barge requirements.
- Prepare and execute comprehensive Project Management Plans, including scope, schedule, budget, quality, and resource requirements.
- Serve as the primary point of contact between clients and project teams, coordinating project activities, leading client and internal meetings, and overseeing successful project delivery.
- Lead multidisciplinary project teams and foster a collaborative, positive working environment.
- Ensure implementation and execution of Barge's Quality Program.
- Review project reports, technical findings, designs, and deliverables and make modifications as necessary.
- Provide technical guidance and resolve project-related challenges.
- Serve as a technical lead on projects when appropriate based on experience and expertise.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, regulatory agencies, contractors, consultants, and other project stakeholders.
- Support strategic planning, business development, client engagement, and growth initiatives within the practice.
- Participate in leadership and project management meetings and training programs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Energy Project Focus
- Civil/site development and infrastructure supporting energy facilities.
- Environmental permitting and compliance associated with energy projects.
- Site development, grading, drainage, stormwater, utilities, or related civil infrastructure.
- Managing projects and client relationships within energy, power, utilities, renewables, or related markets.
Civil Engineering / Solid Waste Focus
- Municipal or private solid waste facilities and infrastructure, Landfill design, expansion, closure, or post-closure projects, Transfer stations, recycling facilities, or related waste management infrastructure and Site/civil design, grading, drainage, stormwater, erosion control, and utilities.
- Environmental permitting and regulatory compliance.
- Preparation or review of engineering plans, specifications, reports, cost estimates, and technical deliverables.
Education & Experience Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited program in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related discipline, depending on the position.
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant industry experience, including demonstrated project management experience.
- Experience in energy-related projects for the Energy-focused position or civil engineering/solid waste projects for the Solid Waste-focused position.
- Professional Engineer (PE) licensure is preferred for the Solid Waste position.
