Electrical Engineering Associate

What We're Looking For:

Barge Design Solutions is currently seeking a motivated individual for the Electrical Engineering Associate position to support the design of industrial, data centers, federal, and healthcare projects. This role works closely with Senior Engineers to provide engineering solutions to clients.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with project team members, client representatives, review agencies to provide a comprehensive project report or detailed design.
• Prepare electrical drawings using computer assisted engineering to generate 2D and 3D models and plans.
• Assists in the analysis or preparation or modification of reports, specifications, and permits for projects
• Assist in the design of power distribution systems, lighting designs, and low voltage systems.
• Perform electrical calculations for electrical load calculations, voltage drop and cable sizing, electrical service sizing, and electrical equipment designs.
• Perform electrical studies including short circuit analysis, coordination, and arc flash studies.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, vendors, and contractors.
• Participate in project site visits with other project team members as needed.
• Participate in Construction Administration of projects by reviewing submittals, assisting engineers in responding to requests for information from contractors.
• Demonstrates strong attention to detail.
• Review and interpret electrical code requirements on projects including National Electrical Code, standard operations, policies, and procedures.
• Performs other duties as requested

Education & Experience Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an ABET accredited university
• EIT Certification
• At least 2 years of experience in the industry is preferred
• Experience using Revit and AutoCAD
• Experience with SKM, ETAP, or similar tools
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret job-related manuals and documents
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously
• Strong interpersonal/communication and teamworking skills
