Hickory Hollow Parkway Interchange Access Request
To support economic growth and improved access to southeastern Davidson County, improvements were needed at the I-24/Hickory Hollow Parkway interchange. Identified goals for the interchange were increased safety, improved routes, alternative access, and additional access while maintaining service along the corridor.
Barge Design Solutions was selected to update the existing Interchange Access Request by analyzing the feasibility of several alternatives and defining the improvements that would be necessary to meet current and future regional needs. The work included analyzing the Metropolitan Planning Organization traffic model, studying viable solutions, and generating a revised model of 2040 traffic data. Transportation engineers developed multiple functional layout designs of the alternatives for accommodating the increased traffic while minimizing off-site improvements that would be required. Through several community meetings, Barge Design Solutions assisted the client in presenting the proposed modifications and addressed questions by property owners in an open forum.
