Metro Nashville Lunch & Learn Shares Sustainable Strategies

2 / April / 2018

Barge Design Solutions recently held a lunch and learn hosted by Socket, Nashville’s Sustainability Outlet, a Division of Sustainability for Metro Nashville’s Department of General Services (DGS).

Over 50 employees experienced an interactive workshop that encourages sustainability in all facets of everyday life. Hands-on activities gave attendees insight in how to save resources, such as energy and water.

Socket educates Metro employees and the general Nashville public about sustainable efforts of both DGS and Metro by connecting them directly to sustainability initiatives while also educating and inspiring sustainable practices at work and at home.

According to Socket, the Division of Sustainability has built 21 LEED® certified buildings and manages 40 LEED® certified facilities. Nashville will soon have three LEED® certified facilities: Criminal Justice Center and the Metro Nashville Police Department Headquarters and Family Justice Center.
