Capitol View Recognized by Urban Land Institute

28 / October / 2020

Nashville’s largest downtown mixed-use development, Capitol View, received an Excellence in Development honor in the large private-sector project category at Nashville’s Chapter of Urban Land Institute annual awards banquet.

The Capitol View mixed-use development lies in North Gulch, just a couple of miles from our headquarters. Covering five city blocks with thousands of square feet of office, residential, retail, restaurant, and community space, this development also connects to Nashville’s Greenway system with jogging and biking trails.

Barge has had the opportunity to work on this impressive project since 2014, when the firm provided survey and civil engineering services on the site. Throughout the years, Barge has continued to perform survey services, roadway design, site development design, water and wastewater design, erosion control; entitlements, permitting assistance; and extensive coordination efforts with all stakeholders for this 32-acre development.

Jeff Cundiff, Barge’s Civil Group Leader, says, “Capitol View transforms an underutilized piece of property into a sustainable community where Nashville residents can live, work, and play, creating a better quality of life in the Downtown core through design.”
