16 / April / 2020
Barge Design Solutions, Inc. (Barge) has been selected by Columbia Power and Water Systems (CPWS) of Columbia, TN for services related to the utility’s Long-Term Water Supply Program. This program is aimed at expanding the utility’s capacity in response to increases in population and infrastructure needs. A signed five-year Master Service Agreement (MSA) will encompass multiple work orders to be completed by 2024.
Barge is one of three firms selected to complete the tasks associated with this program, which will be comprised of multiple facilities – including a new 12 million gallons per day (MGD) water treatment plant – and new water transmission pipelines. Barge will conduct surveying for the entire program, design the finished water transmission pipelines, and develop an Information Management System (IMS) to organize and streamline the utility’s data. The preliminary surveys, pipeline designs, and data gathering efforts specified in the first task order are already underway.
“Since I grew up in Columbia, I’m proud to engage in this project which will provide a clean and secure water supply to the community of Columbia and the surrounding areas for years to come,” shares Matthew Johnson, Barge’s Project Manager designated on this contract.
