Knoxville, TN – (December 3, 2019) Barge Design Solutions, Inc., Community Fund recently awarded over $32,000 to various organizations local to the firm’s offices. One of these grants was awarded to Knoxville’s Wallace Mobile Healthcare, Inc., for $5,000.

Wallace Mobile Healthcare, Inc., (WMH) was founded to honor the memory of Dr. William Wallace, a Southern Baptist missionary from Knoxville, TN who dedicated his career to serving communities in South China. Today, his legacy continues through the work of WMH, a medical mission organization committed to serving the underprivileged and uninsured through providing quality healthcare.

Based in Knoxville, this nonprofit serves homeless shelters, urban neighborhoods, and rural communities in East Tennessee through personalized home visits and community mobile clinics. Their work also extends beyond Tennessee’s borders through yearly international mobile clinic projects.

Brenda Humphrey, Project Administrator at Barge, volunteers regularly with WMH and nominated them for this grant. “I am extremely humbled to work for a company that is so willing to invest in our communities. One individual can only contribute so much, but the Community Fund allows us to multiply our investment and accomplish much more.”

“WMH is completely volunteer run,” shares Brenda. “By providing access to medical resources, we are able spread the message of love and hope. This grant will help support our operational costs which will allow us to expand our reach and invest more fully in our community.”
