APA Alabama & Mississippi Annual Conference // Oct. 16-18

1 / October / 2019

Huntsville, TN - Mark your calendars! Kathryn Withers, AICP, and Paul Darr, PLA, ASLA, are excited to share insights related to the highly-anticipated project CityWalk BHAM at this year's American Planning Association Alabama and Mississippi Annual Conference.

Birmingham's I-59 and I-20 bridges are currently being reconstructed and will also provide better pedestrian connections to nearby downtown attractions. The vision underneath is to develop high-level design and pedestrian amenities that provide room for recreation as well as spaces for artists and outdoor classrooms. The 31-acre park is scheduled for completion and to be operational prior to Summer 2021 when Birmingham hosts the World Games.

Barge Design Solutions assembled a team that includes master planning, engineering, and landscape architecture to facilitate this transformative project.
